Article: Overseas bad debt forces GSPK Electronics into administration

ELEVEN staff at a Yorkshire electronics specialist have been made redundant after the company was placed in administration.

A spokesman for administrators KPMG said yesterday it was too early to say if there would be any further job losses among the remaining 104 staff at GSPK Electronics.

GSPK Electronics, based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, has manufactured an array of electronic products, particularly for the television, telecommunications and automotive sectors.

The business was founded in 1964 by Graham Keddie who started the venture in his garage in Leeds.

Mark Firmin and Richard Fleming of KPMG were appointed joint administrators of GSPK Electronics on Friday.
