Armaghdown Creameries has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fane Valley Co-operative Society since 1991.

In the past decade its dairy processing business, with a significant emphasis on butter production, has made a useful contribution to the success of the Co-op.

After a useful increase in turnover during the early 1990s, during the latter part of the decade Armaghdown's turnover figures tended to fall. Turnover of [Pound]59m in 1996, with some annual fluctuations, fell to a recent low of [Pound]49m in 2001. The most recent registered accounts reveal a sharp recovery to more than [Pound]62m in 2002.
