Teenagers gloomy over community relations Only third feel things will get better

JUST over a third of 16-year-olds in Northern Ireland believe
community relations will improve in the next five years, according to
a survey released today.
And almost two out of three of the teenagers live in areas which
are predominantly made up of their own co-religionists.
Issued to coincide with Community Relations Week, the poll also
showed Catholics generally feel more favourable about the Protestant
community (45%) than vice versa (38%).
The statistics are based on the 2003 Life and Times Survey in
which a sample of 902 16-year-olds were questioned online, by phone
or by self-completed questionaires.
