West Belfast signs up to eurozone scheme

West Belfast today became part of the eurozone with 120 businesses, including the famous Falls Road black taxis, signing up to a scheme to encourage more cross-border and European visitors.The outlets, which include shops, bars and cafes as well as the fleet of black taxis, will now accept euros as payment for goods or services.The initiative was launched by Failte Feirste Thair (Welcome to West Belfast), the tourism arm of the West Belfast Partnership, at the Farset Hotel on Springfield Road.Ciara Boyle, tourism development officer for the organisation, said: "This is the culmination of two years' work and I am delighted so many businesses have decided to sign up to the eurozone."We aim to ...
