The Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call every 41 seconds
over a two-hour period last night as the traditional Eleventh Night
celebrations got under way, it emerged today.Between 12.01am on July
11 to 1am today, the Fire and Rescue Service responded to a total of
325 calls across the province.Senior Commanding Officer Maurice
Rafferty said there was a 60% increase in calls during the peak
period between 11pm last night and 1am this morning compared to last
year.Most problems related to radiant heat from bonfires built close
to properties.Every year in the run-up to bonfire night, the Fire and
Rescue Service issue warnings about the dangers of bonfires and
