Borat embarks on his quest for enlightenment via a series of comic
set pieces. Interview subjects truly believe Borat to be a visitor
from another country. Thus a southern society hostess shows
incredible poise when Borat returns to the dinner table, having
excused himself to visit the toilet, holding a plastic bag full of
excrement.
Borat does not suffer political correctness or social niceties
gladly.
The only false note is Borat's bungled abduction of his romantic
heroine, Pamela Anderson.
Played as if genuine, it's clear from the reaction of Anderson
that the kidnapping is a set-up.
