But while this bloodthirsty thriller may finally earn Scorsese the
Academy Award, he won't truly deserve it. From a technical
perspective, the film offers little that we haven't seen before and
there's a noticeable lack of brio in the action set pieces.Open
Season (Cert PG, 82 mins)Director Roger Allers previously helmed the
Oscar-winning Lion King but his new animated family film is no king
of the jungle. In fact, Open Season cannot lasso a single laugh. The
jokes are an embarrassment, like when Elliot (voiced by Ashton
Kutcher) loses one of his antlers and quips: "Half doe, half buck -
I'm a duck!" Martin Lawrence's and Kutcher's vocal performances
