Former D.C. Superior Court Judge Reggie B. Walton, fired in May
as a top aide to National Drug Policy Director Bob Martinez, may be
about to resume a seat on the Superior Court bench.
Walton's name was one of three given to the White House
yesterday by the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission. President Bush
will nominate a candidate for the seat vacated by Superior Court
Judge Sylvia Bacon, who retired July 9.
The commission also recommended three candidates for a vacancy
on the D.C. Court of Appeals. They are former D.C. corporation
counsel Inez Smith Reid, Deputy Corporation Counsel Vanessa Ruiz and
Superior Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan.
