Article: Former Judge Nominated to D.C. Superior Court

Former D.C. Superior Court Judge Reggie B. Walton, fired in May as a top aide to National Drug Policy Director Bob Martinez, may be about to resume a seat on the Superior Court bench.

Walton's name was one of three given to the White House yesterday by the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission. President Bush will nominate a candidate for the seat vacated by Superior Court Judge Sylvia Bacon, who retired July 9.

The commission also recommended three candidates for a vacancy on the D.C. Court of Appeals. They are former D.C. corporation counsel Inez Smith Reid, Deputy Corporation Counsel Vanessa Ruiz and Superior Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan.
