The end of the Central Catholic-McKeesport game looked a lot like
the start and the middle -- a Vikings player diving on a Tigers
fumble.
Central Catholic recovered five McKeesport fumbles, including two
in the final four minutes, on its way to a 24-13 victory in the
WPIAL Class AAAA semifinals Friday night at West Mifflin High
School.
"It shouldn't have happened," McKeesport coach George Smith said.
"We knew we could move the ball with the fullback. But you have to
be patient."
McKeesport rushed for 220 yards and held the ball for nearly 32
minutes -- almost twice as long as Central Catholic.
But the No. 4 seed Tigers lost three fumbles in the first half,
another one with 4:07 to play and ...
