Nobody would have guessed it was Katia Segre's wedding day.
Only 12 hours before the 27-year-old Silver Spring woman was to
wed in College Park yesterday, Segre wasn't at home polishing her
nails or worrying about the flowers.
She was out running a 10-kilometer race down the streets of Old
Town Alexandria.
The bride wasn't the only one who didn't have the usual
pre-wedding jitters.
Mom was out there huffing and puffing and crunching gravel
along with her daughter.
So were Segre's sister, her stepfather and several friends
involved in the ceremony. They all got up early yesterday to run in
the cool morning.
Segre explained her choice of pre-wedding activity
matter-of-factly.
