Macaroni & Cheese Bake

From the first Banneker-Douglass Museum Cookbook

1 package macaroni

1 tablespoon paprika

1/2 stick butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 pound sharp cheese, cut into 1 inch slices

1 egg

1 cup milk

Cook macaroni until tender as directed on package. Drain. Place thin layer of cooked macaroni in greased baking dish and place cut cheese layer on top. Add another layer of cheese on top. Beat eggs and add milk, then pour over top of casserole. Add butter in little portions and sprinkle lightly with paprika. Bake in 350 degree oven until lightly brown and bubbly.
