Agreement will cover road, water improvements

The county and Fort George G. Meade Monday signed an agreement officials said will lay the groundwork for west county road and water service improvements in advance of tremendous growth coming to the Army post.

Under the terms of the 14-page document, the county will draft plans to improve water lines, widen Route 175 and other capital projects.

Army officials will work to expedite the work by turning over necessary land and helping to win approval from the range of agencies that oversee federal property.
