A proposed state-run equestrian center in Gambrills would create
nearly 1,600 jobs and generate more than $100 million a year,
Maryland Stadium Authority officials told west county business
representatives Monday night.
"The farmers would have more customers. Same for the
veterinarians, the farriers, the saddleries - all of those small
businesses that need this kind of support and need to keep their
farms running," authority Executive Director Alison L. Asti said to
the West County Chamber of Commerce.
The park would also bring money to restaurants and hotels, with
nearly 800,000 visitors a year to 145 events, about half for horses
