If your partner snores, you may lose sleep, get annoyed and maybe
even get angry. But did you know your bed partner could be suffering
from sleep apnea?
This condition is serious, but can be cured using simple
treatments.
Snoring is very common; about 25 percent to 50 percent of men and
25 percent to 30 percent of women snore on a regular basis.
Snoring occurs when the airway to the lungs is narrowed or
blocked. This blockage can be caused by enlarged tissues in the
sinuses (such as the tonsils), a deviated nasal septum or a loss of
muscle strength around the throat. Drinking alcohol, being overweight
and taking medications that relax you or make you drowsy (such as
allergy medicines) also ...
