Many adults have a favorite sleeping position, a favorite blanket
and even a favorite pillow to ensure they get a good night of sleep.
Babies also have sleeping aides that help them fall to sleep or
sleep more soundly.
It could be a pacifier, nursing or soft music. However, unlike
adults, babies require very specific sleeping arrangements to ensure
they sleep safely and to reduce the risk of SIDS (sudden infant death
syndrome).
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, SIDS is the
leading cause of death for infants aged 1 month to 1 year.
SIDS occurs when a normal, healthy baby dies in his/her sleep.
