For seven long decades, Katherine Eggerl Peters was the driving
force behind Max Blob's Bavarian Biergarten, better known simply as
Blob's Park in Jessup.
Celebrated for its menu of homemade German sausages and more than
70 brands of beer, Blob's Park owes its status as a local landmark to
the stewardship of Mrs. Peters, 89. She died April 7 of complications
from a stroke.
"She always wanted to be the boss and to stay boss," said Anna
Henline, Mrs. Peter's daughter. "She was at the door greeting guests
and taking admissions every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. She did
reservations and helped set the tables back up.
"She was one hard-working woman."
