No police officers to work in bars, taverns

For the past decade, Anne Arundel county police officers have
wanted to work secondary jobs in bars. So when a county councilman
this week suggested relaxing ethics rules so they could do just that,
it seemed a cinch to get officers' support.
As the words of debate were still hanging in the air, the police
union declined County Councilman Josh Cohen's offer to help.
Fraternal Order of Police Union President Officer O'Brien Atkinson
said although the police still wanted off-duty jobs at taverns,
maintaining a good work relationship with the county administration
was more important.
