Lee Crippen

Caroline Lee McNeill Crippen, 91, formerly of Annapolis, died of pneumonia Dec. 24 at a New York City hospital.

Mrs. Crippen was born in Fort Sheridan, Ill., and graduated from George Washington University. She earned a master's degree at West Virginia University and taught English at a high school in Arlington, Va. She then served in the WAVES during World War II.

An active volunteer, Mrs. Crippen was formerly executive secretary of the Maryland General Federation of Women's Clubs. She was president of the Woman's Club of Bethesda and president of the Maryland Federation from 1970 to 1972. She also held various positions with several women's organizations.
