Navy was in prime position to capture its first Patriot League
victory of the season yesterday. The host Midshipmen held a six-
point lead with 6:46 remaining against a Bucknell contingent that was
really struggling offensively.
All Navy needed to do was stick with the game plan that had worked
to that point and finish the deal. Of course, that's easier said than
done by a team that has managed just one win over a Division I
opponent. Truth be told, these Mids haven't even been in too many
games at crunch time.
That inexperience of playing with a lead showed as Navy tightened
noticeably down the stretch and committed a slew of costly turnovers
that enabled Bucknell to rally for a 54-52 ...
