Chesapeake's Corey Bowers said he was never more nervous before a
match than he was earlier this month in the moments prior to the 119-
pound Class 4A championship against South River's Andrew Mulry.
"That match meant everything to me and I could feel my hands
shaking right before it," said Bowers, a senior.
If Bowers was nervous, he did a great job hiding it as he
dominated Mulry before finally winning by technical fall, capping a
perfect 35-0 season and putting him among the school's all-time
wrestlers. This year's Capital-Gazette Newspapers' Wrestler of the
Year finished with a career 129-12 record, which also includes two
third-place finishes and a second-place finish in the state ...
