FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Rafael Palmeiro thought he was headed home
when he left the Baltimore Orioles to sign with Texas after the 1998
season.
Five years later, Palmeiro realizes that playing at home isn't the
same as feeling at home.
Back in Baltimore after signing a $4.5 million contract with a
club option for 2005, Palmeiro is excitedly looking forward to
walking into the home clubhouse at Camden Yards and slipping on his
Orioles jersey with No. 25 on the back.
"It feels great being back in a situation that I'm familiar with.
The players are different but it's the same uniform, same ballpark,
same fans," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."
Now that Palmeiro has brought his sweet swing ...
