"I hate to cook," says Karla Seidita as she finishes pouring
the last of six large batches of pumpkin cheesecake batter into
small round cake tins.
"I know it's hard to believe," adds the chief - and often the
only - cook and bottle washer of Karla's Great Cheesecake. But, she
says, she only does it because she loves to eat well. "Good eating
is better than good cooking," she says. As a result, she has a
simple rule: any recipe must be worth it. "The end result has to be
better than the effort put into it," she says, rolling a baker's
rack, full of 18 cheesecakes, to the oven.
Judging by the efforts the 41-year-old Seidita has put into
