While a few hundred big-boat sailors were tearing around the
courses for CBYRA Annapolis Race Week, down in Galesville more than
100 teams of dinghy sailors were contesting the West River Sailing
Club Annual Regatta, a two-day affair on two separate courses.
On the "inside course" just off the mouth of the Rhode River, the
Jet 14s, Lasers, and Laser Radials sailed a five-race series, while
the Penguins sailed three races. Just off the mouth of the West
River, on the "outside course," it was a five-race series for A Cats,
Albacores, Flying Scots, and International Canoes, with three races
for the Chesapeake 20s.
Big turnouts were found in the 26-boat Laser and 20-boat Albacore
classes, but ...
