Pieces of sea glass sparkle like rare gems when they wash ashore:
deep blue, brilliant green, vibrant yellow and bright orange.
But they truly come alive in Annapolis photographer Celia
Pearson's hands. To make her latest subjects shine, she painstakingly
chose just the right backgrounds and lighting.
The results are on display in a new book on sea glass by
Chestertown resident Richard LaMotte. "Pure Sea Glass: Discovering
Nature's Vanishing Gems" came out in June, and a book signing was
held recently at the Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis.
