I sat in the stands at Prince George's Community College on Dec. 27 as the Arundel High School girls basketball team won its first game of the 2004 IAABO Tournament. When the final buzzer sounded, it signified not only a victory for the Lady Wildcats, but the 300th win for head coach Lee Rogers. After the game, I went down to congratulate my former coach on the milestone to which he responded, "Really? I had no idea."

A statement like that shows how a title or record mean far less to him than watching the hard work of his team pay off in the end.
