BALTIMORE - Just when talk began about the potential for changes
in the Oriole bullpen, Jason Grimsley's name was uttered.
Grimsley underwent Tommy John surgery (replacement of an elbow
ligament) in October and was considered lost for the entire season.
The right-handed reliever is 37 and the possibility that he could
return in less than a full year seemed remote at best.
Yesterday, however, Orioles vice president Jim Beattie said that
Grimsley would be in town today and take his first steps toward a
sooner-than-anticipated return.
Grimsley, who didn't participate in spring training and has been
on the disabled list since the beginning of the season, is scheduled
