Article: On the level: Options for the crawl space

Q. I need a tutorial on crawl spaces! We live in a house that was built around 1975. The insulation in the crawl space under the house is in terrible shape. Most of it has fallen to the ground or is in the process of doing so. The moisture barrier on the ground is torn or in disarray, leaving portions of the ground exposed. There are a couple of moist corners. The water source just seems to be from improper drainage of the landscaping. There are three standard-size vents and the access to the crawl space, but there doesn't seem to be any air circulation under there.
