Bobby Wallace proved he can coach by winning 82 games and three
consecutive Division II national championships at North Alabama.
Wallace hoped to duplicate that success on the Division I-A level,
but probably chose the wrong program in Temple.
While Wallace knew he was walking into a tough situation, he never
imagined how hard it would be to turn things around. There have been
roadblocks aplenty, from poor facilities to lack of conference
affiliation to waffling administration support.
Temple has hit rock bottom this season, compiling an 0-10 record
with all but one loss coming in blowout fashion. The Owls must beat
Navy on Saturday to avoid their first truly winless season since
