Article: Sports comment: MAPGA to induct Sporre into Hall of Fame

This November, Bill Sporre will have to leave his pleasure palace in Florida and return to the chilly northeast section of the country. Something tells me he won't mind.

Sporre, longtime head PGA professional at Crofton Country Club, will be inducted into the Middle Atlantic PGA's Hall of Fame on Nov. 4 in Bethesda. Sporre, who retired in 2001, was an accomplished player who served on numerous section and chapter committees during his 40 years as an active PGA member. He and his wife, Gail, retain their Annapolis home but spend much of their time in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
