An equestrian center at the former Naval Academy Dairy Farm in
Gambrills would cost $114 million to build and require $1.5 million
in road improvements to keep traffic congestion from worsening,
according to a study to be released tomorrow.
Paid for by the Maryland Stadium Authority, the study doesn't
spell out how much Anne Arundel County would have to fork over for
the proposed Maryland Horse Park and Agricultural Education Center.
But in the past, authority Executive Director Alison L. Asti has
said the county share could be 10 percent to 30 percent. If that
holds true, county taxpayers could be responsible for $11.4 million
to $34.2 million.
