Article: Dog's world: Keep small dogs out of large dog areas

Last week there was an article in this paper about small dogs in large dog parks. This is something I have always tried to discourage, but usually to no avail. Well, one of the questions in this article was: "how to define a small dog" and the public was asked to send ideas to the county on how to improve dog park safety.

How do you define a small dog? Well, I'd say, just by looking. Surely one can tell if a dog is small or not. I don't care what the breed, a small dog is a small dog, and they should be kept out of the large dog parks!

Some of the small breeds tend to be more aggressive than others - terriers, for example. But that doesn't mean that all terriers are going to be aggressive.
