After beating Annapolis in one High School Summer League semifinal
on Wednesday night, Glen Burnie guard Kareem Downs said his team was
ready for the rematch with unbeaten Broadneck in the championship
game.
While Glen Burnie may not have looked ready through the first half
and midway through the second half, it used a 22-6 run over the final
10:54 to win the Summer League title with a 37-28 win over Broadneck
last night at Arundel Middle School. The game was originally
scheduled to be played at Lake Waterford Park, but the threat of rain
prompted the move indoors.
The win gave Glen Burnie a 10-1 record to round out the summer,
while Broadneck was beaten for the first time and also finished ...
