Feb. 17, 1982: Anne Arundel County Executive Robert Pascal and
Annapolis Mayor Richard Hillman agree to rules for annexation. Ten
days later a General Assembly committee chaired by Del. Elmer Hagner
kills the enabling legislation.
50 years ago this week
Feb. 15, 1957: The Coast Guard commandant, Adm. Alfred Richmond,
says "uncontrolled boating, particularly by inexperienced boatmen, is
as grave a hazard as uncontrolled motoring."
