Article: Around West County: Odenton fire company celebrates 76 Years of Service

The Odenton Volunteer Fire Company celebrated its 76th anniversary April 7 with a gala dinner/dance and awards ceremony. Members and guests were treated to a special night of celebration and recognition for their outstanding accomplishments.

Founded on April 6, 1931 by a group of nine concerned citizens, the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company now boasts over 125 active members. The original founders could never have dreamed what a tremendous resource their little fire company would become.

President Bob Rose addressed the long history and accomplishments of the company. Although facing new challenges, all agreed that the spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in Odenton.
