While the rest of the world is busy online, business owner Rick Tilghman sees no need for a Web site.

The vice president of the Tilghman Co., a nearly 80-year-old Annapolis jeweler, said the most modern technology inside his shop is a fax machine.

"We don't even have a computer," said Mr. Tilghman, whose grandfather Oz Tilghman started the business in 1928.

Some may say the Tilghman Co. is stuck in the Dark Ages when it comes to technology. But Mr. Tilghman and other business owners say they get along just fine without a presence online.
