The days when doctors made house calls are long gone.
But pets in Anne Arundel County can still enjoy that luxury as
part of a growing national trend in veterinary care.
Mobile Pet Vet, a Severna Park-based "house-call veterinary
practice" operated by Dr. Lisa C. Beagan, delivers animal healthcare
services right to the doorstep of their patients' owners.
As Mobile Pet Vet's van rolled up the driveway of Annapolis
resident Kathy Clevenger last week, three expectant faces were
visible at the window. Mrs. Clevenger's children, Alex and Anne, were
peeking out next to her excitable Labrador, Emma, who couldn't wait
to greet Dr. Beagan and her head technician, Robin Hennick.
