Is there a connection between Asian lady beetles (those big lady
bugs) and asthma? Can one become allergic to these bugs in the house?
Yes, it is possible to have an allergic reaction to the
multicolored Asian lady beetle, according to the University of
Michigan Extension. Prolonged exposure to infestations has been
reported to cause allergic reactions in some humans. Patients have
described itchy nose and eyes, sneezing, upper respiratory symptoms
and severe, persistent asthma.
