08.08 I stumble up the station steps to a welcoming sight. My
deadly rival is still standing on the opposite platform. The time
and money it takes connecting with train services to the French
capital means Eurostar has tended to lose out to the regional
airports in this part of the country. But with the new faster
service out of St Pancras - 20 minutes off the previous time - and
Fred still waiting for his train to the airport, I'm thinking
there's no better time than now to beat him to the Eiffel Tower.
