Man charged in murder after telling of battery
A Kansas City man was charged last week for the murder of his
grandfather.
Justin J. Lowe, 23, is accused of beating his 71-year-old
grandfather, James Lowe, to death on Dec. 26 at his home in the 8500
block of 91st Terrace.
According to court records, Justin Lowe took his grandfather's car
the following day and drove to see his girlfriend in Coralville,
Iowa, a suburb of Iowa City.
The girlfriend told police that Lowe had said during a telephone
conversation that he "knocked him out. I punched him in the head."
Lowe was arrested when he arrived at his girlfriend's residence.
He is being held without bond in the Johnson County (Iowa) Detention ...
