The constitutionality of executing prisoners by lethal injection
has been challenged nationwide. On Monday, local attorneys will join
the chorus when they plan to ask the full 8th Circuit U.S. Court of
Appeals to hear arguments in the case of death-row inmate Michael
Taylor.
Execution methods have been challenged in the past, but the
current debate about lethal injection could potentially end more than
a century of disagreement over the death penalty and place an
indeterminate hold on executions nationwide, says a nationally
recognized expert on lethal injection.
