Two days before Thanksgiving, the Roanoke Express rescued rookie
Mike Peron from the East Coast Hockey League's waiver wire. since
then Peron has spent the past three games thanking the Express.
The 5-foot-9 right wing had an assist in each of his first two
games, both against Hampton Roads. In his third game, Peron had two
goals - including the winner - in a shootout victory over Johnstown
on Saturday night. He was named the star of the game.
"I've been given a lot of opportunities to play and good
situations to play in," Peron said. "My linemates are playing pretty
well, and I've been getting lucky."
