Brian Murphy has been selected as one of the recipients of the
National Collegiate Athletics Association Postgraduate Scholarships
for 2004 spring student-athletes. Murphy, of Tualatin, Ore.,
graduated from the University of Redlands in May.
The NCAA annually awards 87 men and 87 women postgraduate
scholarships. Murphy was one of nine men representing Division III.
A four-time All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference tennis player, he was named in 2003 and again in 2004 to
the Academic All-America Teams, carrying a 3.78 grade-point average
while majoring in financial economics and accounting.
