Article: Loma Linda Medical Supplies store closing its doors

LOMA LINDA Loma Linda Medical Supplies will close its doors for the last time Friday.

The store, a Loma Linda mainstay for the past two decades, has had its challenges over the past year.

"Our goal was to at least break even and we were unable to do that," said W. Augustus Cheatham, vice president for public affairs for Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center. "We were having substantial losses every month and had been for over a year."

The payments for the large number of clients the store served from state programs were inadequate to cover cost of equipment, facility and staffing, he said.
