Judging by the size of the shipments unloaded on the docks of Seattle, the recession hasn't quite found Nintendo Co., the tireless Japanese video game maker that runs the U.S. market as a virtual private mint.

With Christmas closing in, Nintendo plans to ship in another million of the game player units that hook up to its customers' TV sets. The additional units will enter a market that Nintendo largely built itself through the addictive allure of games like Super Mario Brothers 3 and The Legend of Zelda.
