Article: [ Scene at the beach ] Footlighters dine on the waterfront

On June 30, it seemed apropos that the Musical Theatre West Footlighters should hold their traditional opening night dinner on the waterfront, at the Long Beach Yacht Club.

The view of the marina accompanied their dinner, held to celebrate the beginning of the three-weekend run of Gilbert and Sullivan's classic operetta "The Pirates of Penzance."

The 50 members were greeted by the Executive Director/Producer of MTW, Paul Garman. He thanked the Footlighters for their support as the 54th season comes to a close with this production, which can be enjoyed Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through July 15 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center.
