Article: Country club's plans assailed

ALTADENA -- Disgruntled neighbors of the Altadena Town & Country Club refused to accept a set of operating standards the club proposed Monday night at a meeting arranged by the County at the Community Center.

The club put forward the standards as a possible solution to some of the long-standing problems of noise, parking, filming and activity on the club's property that residents say have lowered their quality of life.

But before Bruce Durbin, the permit investigator for the district, could finish reading the proposed standards, a group of about a dozen residents, mostly from Country Club Drive, began their offensive.
