A new city manager with a track record of bringing economic
development to his cities has taken the helm in Rosemead.
Andy Lazzaretto, 63, comes to the $150,000-a-year job after
serving as city manager in Walnut, Montebello, Alhambra, Stanton and
Burbank and doing stints as interim city manager in Pomona and La
Habra.
Lazzaretto, who started Wednesday after unanimous City Council
approval, has run the Burbank-based municipal consulting firm A.C.
Lazzaretto and Associates since 1985.
"I would like to help revitalize the community," Lazzaretto said.
"I hear that from the council."
Lazzaretto started his career in Walnut, where he made about
$12,000 a year as city manager in the 1970s.
