The principal from St. Anthony's school will take the top job when Holy Trinity/Sacred Heart and St. Mary's/St. Patrick's merge next fall, officials with Holy Family Catholic Schools announced this week.

Lori Apel, 41, has been the principal at St. Anthony's for seven years. Her varied background, with experience overseeing two buildings at once and at a bilingual school, played a role in her selection, said Don Miller, Holy Family chief executive officer.

"She's got a wide range of experiences that we thought were a really good fit for the new circumstances," he said. "We're thrilled to have someone of her caliber and experience in the position."
