Article: Sandwich scores at Bake-Off; 'Breadwinner': The top prize goes to a food that had 'star quality'

This year's Pillsbury Bake-Off winner provided a first.It's the first time in the 53-year history of the acclaimed contest that the winning entry was a sandwich.

The Earl of Sandwich would be proud of the accountant from Nashville, Tenn. who created the "breadwinner."

Denise Yennie had what judges called "star quality." Her Chicken Florentine Panini - a homemade version of an Italian restaurant staple - knocked out the competition for the $1 million grand prize.

Denise, a business consultant with two teenage children, was shocked to learn she had won.

"O my God, I am so excited," she said in a press release. "My kids are home from school on a snow day and they're watching."
