Article: Fewer travelers using Dubuque Regional Airport; 16 percent: Decline is the result of several factors, including Sept. 11 attack

The Dubuque Regional Airport reported Wednesday that 16 percent fewer passengers utilized the airport in March of 2002 than in March of 2001.

The monthly enplanements - number of passengers using the airport - have dropped each month this year when compared to 2001. Airport records show 6.4 percent fewer passengers used the airport during the first quarter of 2002 than in the first three months of 2001.

"It's not as bad as it looks," said Andrew Perry, airport manager. "I really wouldn't call it an alarming concern at this point in time."
